Spring has Arrived in Minnesota

Spring Getaway at our Minnesota Bed and BreakfastThough there’s still a chill in the air, there’s no doubt that spring has finally come to Minnesota.  The ice has already broken on the lake, perhaps setting a record for the earliest in the year! The disappearance of the ice leaves us with no doubt that warmer weather and sunnier skies are headed our way.  We’re getting busy around the Inn getting set up for another fun season ahead, and outdoor enthusiasts gearing up for another exciting year of adventure.  As mother nature begins its gradual reawakening, treat yourself to a spring getaway along the shores of Minnesota’s Green Lake.  At the historic Spicer Castle, guests can enjoy the sights and sounds of spring all around us.  Book your room today.

Spring Activities in Minnesota

There’s something about this time of year that is rejuvenating for the soul.  Whether it’s the warming sun or the new buds on trees and plants all around there, spring just makes us smile.  It’s a wonderful time of year to treat yourself to something special. Though gazing out across the expansive waters of Green Lake is a relaxing way to spend a getaway in Minnesota, there are a variety of other ways to experience the rejuvenating powers of Spicer as well.  Here are a few of our favorite activities for enjoying springtime in Minnesota:

  • Spring Getaway at our Minnesota Bed and BreakfastBike along the 12-mile trail around Green Lake
  • Walk or bike along the Glacial Lakes State Trail.  Between Willmar, Spicer, New London, Hawick, and the Kandiyohi/Stearns County line, there are 22 miles of paved trails to enjoy.
  • It wouldn’t be spring without a hike.  One of the best parks in the area for scenic hiking is Sibley State Park, where you can climb to the top of Mount Tom.  It’s the tallest point around, and offers incredible vantage points from the top.
  • Lovers of spring will also enjoy wildflowers peeking up from the ground at local parks, such as Sibley State Park and Prairie Woods Environmental Center.  Spring is also a great time to go birding along Green Lake, Sibley State Park, or the Environmental Center.  There are plenty of migrating spring birds that come through the area, delighting us with their songs along the way.

When you’ve had enough adventure for the day, our Minnesota Inn will be waiting for you. Enjoy afternoon tea service with us, followed by a relaxing evening playing board games, reading books in the lobby, or strolling the serene grounds.  Dinner can be enjoyed in our gourmet lakeside restaurant, too.  We have everything you need to enjoy a restful few days on the stunning shores of Green Lake.  Take advantage of our spring specials, and book your spring getaway with us today!
