End of Summer Savings at Spicer Castle Inn

August 24, 2010 by SpicerCastle

Summer in Minnesota is almost over and many of you have yet to take a vacation.  May I suggest a night or two at our Historic Inn and Restaurant located on the shores of beautiful Green Lake in Spicer, MN.  Stay with us Thursday, August 26th or Friday, August 27th and not only get a deal on your room but also a certificate to our restaurant or dinner cruise.    Enjoy a 20% lodging discount along with a $25.00 certificate to our restaurant or dinner cruise.

In the evening relax as you sit  by the bonfire overlooking spectacular Green Lake while you roast marshmallows, make smores and tell tales.   Be sure to bring your camera to remember the magnificent sunset over Green Lake.

Later on enjoy a glass of wine while soaking in a double whirlpool tub and if the night is cool, watch the flames dance in the fireplace.  Sleep peacefully in a cozy bed and awaken to a hearty breakfast.

Put down the Book and Strap on the Skis

Strap on those skis!

Winter can be cold here at Green Lake Minnesota, it’s true. We like to pass the winter months at our Minnesota bed and breakfast curled up beside roaring fires, with book in hand and cups of tea by our side. It is as delightful as it sounds.

Yet many of us also like to get out and experience the winter wonderland that is all around us – at least from time to time. It makes us appreciate the warmth of the fire so much more.

It is always invigorating to put on a pair of snowshoes or cross country skis and head out into the wilderness (or at least to a well-marked trail). You are invited to blaze your own trail right from our Minnesota Inn. Ski for miles or stomp around in your snowshoes for an hour or so. You will certainly be ready to return to our Minnesota bed and breakfast as the light fades, ready for Afternoon Tea.

Nearby Prairie Woods Environmental Learning Center has almost seven miles of trails throughout its 500 acres. This is another delightful place to ski. Equipment rental (cross country skis or snowshoes) is available.

Now is the time to put down that book and strap on those skis!

Fall Leaves

Fall into fall

Labor Day is almost upon us, and with it comes shorter days, cooler weather, and outrageous fall color. When you are driving to work on a glorious fall day, do you ever feel the urge to jump out of the car and get into nature? When next that feeling strikes you, give us a call and plan a getaway to our bed and breakfast in central Minnesota.

Nestled in the woods on the shores of Green Lake, our Central Minnesota bed and breakfast is an ideal spot to immerse yourself in the blaze of autumn foliage. On warm days, the water still invites you to take off your shoes and roll up your pants. On chilly days, you just feel like putting on a cozy sweater and heading out into the woods. When you return to our central MN b&b, you can find a warm spot in front of the fireplace to enjoy a book, a cup of tea, or a snuggle.

Guests enjoy strolling the expansive grounds of our lakefront lodging. If you feel more energetic, nearby DNR Glacial Lakes Trail offers over 25 miles of paved trails through the Minnesota woods and prairie lands. This is the place to experience the serene beauty of our region. Though we are a short drive from St. Cloud and Minneapolis/St. Paul, we feel a world away. Don’t hesitate. Plan your getaway today.
