John's Cottage at Spicer Castle
This soft peach room features a wood burning fireplace, fifteen lace curtained windows viewing the lake, lagoon and grounds, a sculptured mahogany headboard for queen bed, wicker table and chairs, and a small dining table and chairs. Starting on a farm in Illinois, John later worked in a store and was a torchbearer at the Lincoln-Douglas debates. Moving to Minnesota he learned about business and farming, and became prominent in the development of Southwestern Minnesota. Cottage has fireplace, shower, double corner whirlpool tub, microwave, refrigerator, and coffeemaker. Namesake of John Spicer.
