Spicer, Minnesota is the perfect destination for a little old fashioned summer fun.  We are only located 2 hours from Minneapolis/St. Paul, making us an easy weekend or midweek getaway destination. Beyond the lake, Spicer and nearby towns have a wonderful variety of trails to explore, small shops to browse, and a wonderful winery.  Activities here include biking, boating, swimming, roasting s’mores by the fire, and watching the Little Crow Waterski Team perform. The Green Lake Triathlon this year happens on August 13th, 2017.  The race begins at 8am in the morning, and race check-in starts at 6:30 am.  Luckily, the venue is only a few minutes drive away from the Spicer Castle Bed and Breakfast, so already you’re in a good position to get a good night’s rest and start the race off on the right foot.  The Green Lake Triathlon begins with a refreshing swim in Green Lake, followed by a bike ride across the gently rolling hills through the area, and finishing with a quick run to the finish. Participants can either participate in the smaller sprint course, of the more intensive Olympic course.

When you’ve thoroughly exhausted yourself, head back for dinner and a little relaxation by the fire on our outdoor patio.
